A Message from Tom Groat, our SLNA President

We are very fortunate to call this vibrant, family-orientated neighbourhood our home and I am
honoured to be part of the great neighbourhood of Shannon Lake. I feel very privileged having
been elected president of our Shannon Lake Neighbourhood Association (SLNA).

Like you, I have a strong desire to maintain and protect the high standard of living that we all
enjoy. Municipal improvement at the neighbourhood level does not happen without advocacy.
Our SLNA is tasked with identifying and responding to local issues while enhancing
communication with the City of West Kelowna to effect change.

There is power in numbers. A strong membership results in a strong voice. As Shannon Lake,
and the City of West Kelowna as a whole, grows and develops it is important to be heard.
Membership in SLNA is open to any person residing in or owning residential property within the
boundaries of our neighbourhood. The SLNA is registered under the BC Society’s Act and
recognized within the City of West Kelowna’s Official Community Plan. I encourage all Shannon
Lake residents to join the SLNA.

Our SLNA Executive, comprised of neighbourhood volunteers, encourages a welcoming,
connected community through the promotion of neighbourhood events.
